@mlight333 competition... a mention of linux would be dangerous for mac...
-
@quicksurfinternet I guess from that logic, that's a smart thing to do.
I think of Linux users using Linux as much as Mac users using OSX and only use bootcamp for games. But, for most internet based things, they would use any OS they want with a web browser
But, hey numbers don't lie, just some people pulling a number out of the air. (Like steve jobs saying iOS is 90% market share)

Why can't we get iTunes in Linux?

Audible is a bad Sponsor for a Linux Show because it doesn't work in Linux.
Second, you said "VLC Client", I think you mean "VNC Client"

@commodore256 No it isn't.
I've been doing Linux News Log since late 2004. Over 80% of my audience downloads my show using the Windows version of iTunes, which means that even though this show is about Linux, my core audience is a Windows user. Less than 10% of my audience downloads the show in Linux.
My advertising is aimed at my core audience. Anything else would be irresponsible on my part and wouldn't pay my bills.

@quicksurfinternet That doesn't make much sense, but if its works, go with it.
That's funny that a Linux show's target audience is windows users. But then again, I'm a windows user now, but I hate iTunes, I like my foobar2000.

@commodore256 well, there is a percentage of the audience that does actually use linux, but the vast majority of the audience uses itunes on windows to download it the mp3, ipod, and hd versions. I could find an advertiser (and have in the past) that targets the linux user, but that audience is tiny compared the windows audience. It would not be an effective ad campaign if it were aimed at the linux user.
