Hi! Pleased to hear that the restoration is coming on apace... I was thinking I'd drop in one day soonish to have a look, before it's all finished - when might be a good time? When is it looking likely that it will all be finished?

I know this instrument well (my mother used to practice on it and also visited it, more recently, as organist of the neighbouring Christ Church CofE on Copse Hill. As long as you put back the Vox Humana on the Swell and the 1935 mutations etc. on the Choir (given that the Choir additions did not supplant any other pipework), I'd love to support the restoration!

The Vox Humana is a possibility we've explored in the tenders, but the choir mutations are not, I'm afraid! I knew what they sounded like and they were totally ineffectual with no supporting foundation tone. They were literally tacked on extra soundboards which were not winded properly and with the extra diapason rank caused immense problems of regulation. I hope you will still be able to support our project without them - and your mother too (I assume you are Julie's son!)
