I am so surprised to see that people think that someone has died for some country. People die while doing their duty. Their duty pays them money. People get into army for money, not just for emotions. Emotions, patriotism etc come from movies and songs but the real idea is employment. No offence to anybody, specially soldiers but root cause problem is indians never had unity and economy to support the population. Still, indians are just providing services to western nations and calling it success

@TheBarathbushan Indians were in british army serving british interest just for the sake of money, although they used to get much less than their counterparts. No body sacrifices for any country, its an employment so there is no question of giving or taking men.

@itrybutalwaysfail I agree with you. Thanks for correcting me. Militant is a common term used for what you explained. Thanks. I would like to read more about Mohan Singh though.
-
@vik2008USA I think by militant they meant someone who was willing to use force to get independence. The first INA leader was not Bose, it was Mohan Singh. Mohan Singh later turned against the Japanese because he felt they were turning the INA into a puppet army, so the Japanese had him arrested and replaced by Bose. I therefore consider Mohan Singh to be the true hero of the INA. They say so in part 3 of the clip.

@nylonTS I think a few officers go there as commanders of the companies their web site could give you more information.

@LudwigTheRuthles We indians gave 2.5 million of our men to the british during WW2 . They scored victories at crucial strategic points , they endured poor pay , inequality , discrimination and poor treatment of our troops .
After war they neither got any credits , pension or atleast even some appreciation .
All the soldiers got from churchill is his famous comment
"INDIANS ARE A BEASTLY PEOPLE WITH BEASTLY RELIGION"
thank you
Mr churchill
We find you no less imperialist than the Nazis !!

foolish bbc correspondent. at the end whom he is calling militant indian nationalist, he is actually a hero in India.. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. At that time, he already made an arrangement with Hitler and Japanese about kicking off british from india. Probably that's what makes him militant in British eyes.
I Salute the brave Indian soldiers of past and present.
