Maryville PFLAG and the Maryville College GSA will be honored the Stutte family on Thursday, October 7th, 2010 at McArthur Pavilion on the Maryville College Campus from 6:30 -- 8:30 pm.
Carol Ann and Laura Stutte were the victims of an apparent hate crime when their home was burned to the ground on September 4th. Representatives from many local organizations, including East Tennessee Equality Council (ETEC), Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, Knoxville Human Rights Group, and others, that have participated in donation collection and relief efforts.
ETEC has collected hundreds of donations from around the world and presented a check, in excess of $11,000 to the Stutte family representing the total amounts collected from our online donation drive.
Many other organizations were on hand to offer words of encouragement and to present the family with the results of their respective donation drives.
I'm claiming fair use on the WBIR broadcast. If WBIR would make the video available for archived streaming, I would gladly take this video down. However, let's all give kudos to WBIR. They showed up and have been ever diligent in presenting the LGBT community in a fair manner.
Hurray WBIR! Thanks for posting this.
