Hello,

Again a quick and very simple tutorial for beginners. Learn how to create this gritty, over processed photo effect. It's pretty cool and quick. Turn your photos into extreme and impress your friends.

Step 1: Duplicate the background layer.

Step 2: Apply the high pass filter. Radius value will depend on the size of the image but between 30-35 pixels seems to work well.

Step 3: Change the blend mode to "Hard Light".

Step 4: Duplicate the layer "Background copy".

Step 5: Add a new layer with blending mode set to "Hard Light" and filled with 50% gray.

Step 6: Apply the noise filter. Make sure you check Gaussian and monochromatic, then choose a value. I added just a little bit.

Step 7: Add a "Hue / Saturation" adjustment layer.

Step 8: Desaturate the color a little bit just o give the image a more washed-out appearance.

That's it, done. Now play with several photos and change the values of the filters. Add more layers if you like and drop the layer opacity lower if you wish.

Thank you for watching and please subscribe.
