Oh, this is tremendous! What a rendering - so forceful, yet absolutely unnoticeable - a true sprezzatura of singing. Ghiarov's Don Giovanni is second to none, even to the great Siepi.

I've treasured this complete recording since childhood and, for me, he's still the definitive Don Giovanni.
Great voice, characterization, musicality ... he just IS Don Giovanni when he sings this opera.
I hope, for Mirella Freni's sake, he was not so in real life. :))
