Mercury 50 Hp Outboard Trigger Issue Each cylinder should only fire once per revolution, and only on one cylinder. This motor is firing on random cylinders, and more than one cylinder per revolution. DVA output from pack was 200+ and stator output was WNL. Spark was good x 4. It just would not power up due to cross firing on all cylinders.

  • your problem is the distribuitor cap ,,u probably have a trace inside the cap or moisture or some other conductive path that make the spark go the wrong way,,,i don't think the trigger has the blame

  • oooh. so it was running with a bad ignition moduel?
