  • What a truly great talent! It's said he wrote over a thousand songs! More than Paul McCartney! His songs would be popular and last longer! He had a great voice and always gave freely of himself to help other musicians and actors! His music will live forever as it should rightly be! Thanks IrRriS113nt for posting this great song!

  • @CharlestonDog6

Glad you like it, youre welcome.

  • You wouldn't happen to have Mercer's version of 'One For My Baby?'

  • Nope, i'm sorry.

  • @CharlestonDog6 I love the video Johnny Mercer had a voice with great charisma but the song was written by Johnny Burke and Jimmy Van Heusen

  • Heard of Johnny Mercer for the first time today and fell in love with this song. Really great, I think I have to listen to his other songs.

  • RUFFF! @2:34

  • gosh fallout 3 made me search for these songs, finally better music, not that usual crap we are getting nowadays this stuff is so awesome!!

  • The melody became "Phoneability" for a phone company spot in the 1950s. Cut lyrics went like--

"When Mrs. Jones can call her neighbor in Saint Paul

while baking chocolate brownies for tea.

She's got a lot of 'Phoneability'."

Johnny Mercer was one of the founders of Capitol Records in 1942 because he was not happy with his work at Columbia.
