Footage of a "Spiral" UFO event, witnessed at 5:50am on Saturday June 5th 2010 on the NSW Central Coast, Australia.

NEWS ARTICLE:
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/06/05/2919095.htm

The footage doesn't show how enormous the phenomenon was, or how beautiful it was. Huge, radiant pale yellow/white spiral arms, with a bright white centre.

This spiral looked very similar to the "Spiral UFO" event seen in Norway a few months ago. I'm fairly certain the Russian Military hasn't been testing any missiles around here!

At first I thought it was some kind of halo effect coming from the moon, until I noticed the moon overhead. I grabbed my camera and started filming. The spiral then started to move across the sky, behind a large cloud and was gone.

  • YOU WERE ON THE NEWS! YOU WERE ONE OF THE UFO WITNESSES :)

  • i think they were there to pick you up and take you home, humans can't have eyes like yours

  • Pretty cool find man :] one of those 'had to be there' scenarios I bet

  • right mate are you being serious theres a lite in the sky and thats it

  • Sent the other articles/links in a PM :-)

  • @smit1000 Comments dont like websites, and I have quite a few... Including orbital data, Falcon 9 press releases detailing launch direction, etc... Though I CAN post the launch video here - you see the first 11 minutes of flight or so (until it reaches orbit) and you can clearly see the spin that produces the spiral effect towards the end (from about 8 mins...). I'll PM the others.

  • @ferrett78 Very interested in these links, might as well post them on here in the comments section :)

  • @smit1000 Actually, the rocket was launched with an inclination of 34.5 degrees north of east. Orbital velocity for LEO is about 7km/sec, which puts it in exactly the place the spiral was seen at the time it was seen. At an altitude of 250km, Im not surprised it was not detected on radar. While Falcon 9 (launch 1) was still in orbit, you could look for its location at any given time on a tracking map, and it was exactly where the spiral was seen. PM me if youd like some links to information :-)

  • @ferrett78 The launch time was more then a hour before the first sightings in Australia, it could not have been the launch, or a booster from the falcon x launch as no objects were detected on radar and at the time the rocket was well into its second orbit of the Earth. It is still a UFO to this day, and to be seen like that in the night sky one would assume the object would have to be quite large. The media dismissing it so quickly is what scares me.. why did they not investigate this?

  • @LewisHamilton1991 Actually we dont have rocket launches here in Australia (at least not at the moment, that I know of), though I recall NASA agreeing to use Woomera in South Australia to launch rockets bound for the ISS at some point. This particular one was launched from Florida though - the orbital track just took it over Australia about an hour after launch (yes, they are that fast!).
