The trail condition changes daily and by season. When it is dry and maintained it is a difficult hike. When the trail is wet and it is raining it is a very difficult and perhaps treacherous hike. Mahalo

@jiggymelt i hiked it barefoot in 4 hours lol, after shotgunning a few beers and smokin a few bowls. Granted i was dilirious i just wanted to make the bluff my sunset.

haha! nice ski poles. what pussies! my last time, i hiked it barefoot in 10 hours. its not as hard as the stupid brochures make it out to be. but, most beautiful.

Hey, at age 30 or younger, I didn't need poles. At an older age, poles really help the knees. And I agree, it's not really that hard of a hike to do in one day (either one way or both in and out). On this particular day, I went into Kalalau beach and back in 11 hours. Barefoot would be really hard and not all that fun. Why would you want to do that - unless of course you want to be a complete minimalist, which I can respect.
