I agree with you about the 'they shouldn't be in zoos' thing, but some animals can't be released into the wild, for various reasons like maybe it doesn't know how to fend for itself in the wild, or something else.

The two grizzly bears at the zoo are from montana, they would have been shot if they weren't taken in. It's so sad that they can't live out in the wild I agree, but this is better than having them gone. Plus, they just got a new enclosure!!! yay!

I run an exotic animal sanctuary and have 3 american black bears, 2 asian black bears, and a syrian grizzly.

In a way I agree with SeppukuDoll - I love zoo's becuase I love animals, but I always go around feeling sorry for the individual inmates. However, I think that being able to see a bear in the zoo, think it is cute, beautiful, or whatever; and think it should be in the wild; probably helps conservation and converts people into wanting to save animals and their habits in the wild. So perhaps these few inmates help the rest of their spieces.
