@Aninalolin Thank you for the tip! I'll look around and see what I can find. And thank you for sharing this video!

It's a beautiful piece of machinery. I recently bought one at a flea market, my model has a bit simpler controls though, 'off' 'on without lamp' and 'on with lamp'. Unfortunatly mine also came without the original spool belts. It's my understanding that they doesn't age well, how well does it work with regular rubber bands? Have you found any better replacements? I found a company in australia who says they fabricate spool belts for most 8mm projector models. But a DIY solution would be great.

Hello, I have just purchased one of these in Pink, what a fantastic looking Projector! I wonder if you can help me, it has no plug! It has the original mains lead in grey with Red, Grey & Black wiring, can you tell me which one is which, live, neutral, earth.... Great clip by the way ;-)

@seikocentre : Mine had no plug either! It was easy for me to prepare one, though, since there are only TWO bornes present in the socket (that means no earth). What I did was to use an old plug I had around (two wires, which I attached to one of the bornes each). I should explain I live in old old Europe... I guess you could simply ignore the earth wire. AC current means it doesn't matter which wire you use (?) ...
Anyway I wonder if your model is exactly like mine ?
I hope this helps

I know which model you're talking about :-)
The rubber band solution was a dirty fix just for the video. Actually my projector has cracks on both knobs which bite the bands, so you end up with a lot of "sawdust". After about half an hour they break.
The cheapest working solution, in my opinion, would be to buy standard drive belts such as the ones cassette players used in the old times. They are ridiculously cheap, and certainly tougher than normal rubber bands. I'm sure they would do the job.
