  • FUCK PETA

  • They got mad because he raced her against colts? Oh my God. Now we're going to be sexist towards horses! Those horses love running. It's like the Huskies in the Iditterod(sp?), they love running. Period. So PETA, suck it, and go find some lab rats to set free and I hope you get killed in the process.

  • She died because racing is a cold, inhumane sport. It has nothing to do with the horse's gender, or the horse. The fault was not with her. They ran this still-growing adolescent to death. They killed her.

  • @ViVi80 I was being facetious, GET IT???? As for the attitudes of the two men, Saez was obviously shocked and heartbroken, and Larry RAN across the track to her until he caught a ride with track crew. He could not reach her in time before she was put down because track vets put her down as quickly as possible. "Shortly past the line", wasn't like a few dozen feet or so after the the wire:, she was nearly to the backstretch again on her gallop-out before she fell. Not a 30 second jaunt.

  • Respond to this video... Let's put it this way, if it were Barbaro who ended up with Eight Belle's fate (2 broken ankles), Prado would never walk away from Barbaro just like that, impatient to get his saddle back like Saez was, even if he OBVIOUSLY can't support Barbaro's weight. It's all about the attitude. DUH.

  • @duvalditty73

LOL. You are a prized moron. Who says it's all about whether they are doing something for the horse like supporting 75% or 50% of their weight. Frankly speaking no one would even think about or bring up the point about what, Saez crouching beneath to support her weight. Trust a dimwit like you to even have that thought cross your mind. I"M TALKING ABOUT THE SAEZ'S ATTITUDE, GET IT?????

  • @ViVi80 You are a blooming idiot. Saez could do nothing for her, and only would have been in the way of the people who were coming quickly who COULD help her (the outrider was already there, equine ambulance en route.) Prado was helping Barbaro stay on his three good legs, as did Antley with Charismatic in '99 but a human cannot support 50% of a horses weight as Saez would have had to do if he had crouched beneath her chest to keep her off of her far more extensive injuries.

  • In show jumping, dressage, polo, cross country, reining, barrel racing, endurance, mares and stallions and geldings go head to head ALL THE TIME and no one says a word. Isn't that weird?

  • larry jones and gabriel saez's body language gave them away. Saez walked away from the frightened and injured Eight Belles ( compare that to Prado with stayed with Barbaro to try his best to help and comfort him.

Eight Belles collapsed shortly past the line right on the track. Plenty of people witnessed what happened, but Jones did not even reach her in time before she was put down??? Oh, because he was busy celebrating his ego and money.

    RIP brave Eight Belles.

  • poor eight belles :(
