Ferret owners will be quite familar with the variety of items I found in my closet. Those interested in ferrets - be warned - they are thieving little buggers - hence their scientific name "Mustela putorius furo" - which translates to "Stinky mouse-carrying thief"!

Pan was the main perpetrator. He is believed to have stolen about 90% of the merchandise. Jack may be an accomplice. Sassy is under investigation for the paper balls as well as all the cat toys. Roxy is the most likely suspect for the latex dog toys. Puck has been freed of all suspicion as he's too busy knocking things over and breaking things to steal things.

And yes - this is only a few days worth of stolen merchandise!

  • Lilo is utterly fascinated with leather, and loves to steal my wallet. I finally moved my driver's license to a (leather) business card holder and put it in a zipped purse compartment.

You guessed it. I found the zipper open and the driver's license gone. It's not in any of her normal stashes. It's been several weeks now. I have a terrible feeling that she managed to put it in the space under the kitchen cabinents, accessible for only a few hours when we were remodeling, and now closed off.

  • I knew ferrets liked to steal but I didn't know they're identify thieves as well. Can't you see Lilo at the DMV asking for some extra pillows to get her pic taken?

  • I had an embarassing moment at the grocery store not long ago. I went to pay and my debit card wasn't in my purse. So then I pulled out my biz debit card and I couldn't for the life of me remember the PIN. I was sweating, too, since I was sick so I probably looked like some crackhead that had stolen someone else's card LOL When I went home to get my checkbook to pay for my groceries I found my debit card - in the closet.

  • holy moly! that's impressive. i didn't realize they could carry/drag things that big

  • I watched Jack drag one of my hiking boots under the bed today LOL

  • I live in northern ireland £5 for my ferret! lol! $129.00 wow thats crazy!

  • wow! thats a lot of stuff! mine only steal my wallet....

i think i'm very lucky hehehe

  • ferrets cost around 130 then you have to add cage cost, toy cost food cost vet costs..so..they cost alot more then what pople usually expect if they have not done theyre research

  • Ferrets only "stink" if you don't keep their litter boxes clean, use small bedding in the cage, never wash their bedding or bathe them too much. A lot of people make the mistake of bathing them often which makes them smell MORE since their bodies produce more oils to compensate. I scoop the litter daily and wash all bedding weekly and when people come to my house most are surprised that the only thing the ferrets smell like are the fresh smell of the pine wood stove pellets I use for litter.

  • To your first question mine cost about 129.00 at pet-smart and to your next question yes they do.

  • How much a ferret cost and do they stink? I'd like one, they look entertaining!
