i think this is just trying to create a kind of grotesque feeling and a lot of macabre stuff. nothing symbolic. i feel like this short film actually kind of captures everything about lynch's style.
A lot of things can be read into in that way. Play a record backwards, any record, and you'll probably hear the word "Satan" several times. I'm not sure why it is that way, it just is. I'm thinking David might have been giving his fans something to read into. I don't think he was a Satanist. I'm not sure what he is, but I'm pretty sure he's not a Satanist.
