  • how did you train her so good?

  • It's all about reinforcement, plus it helps that pugs are very food motivated. I basically broke everything down in small steps.

  • Oh man.. its a nightmare trying to teach my dog to roll-over.

  • actually it wasn't bad. It took her 2 wks to the day to learn how to roll over.

  • My pug only rolls over half way :/ So pretty much on her side...

  • I know a lot of pugs, and have owned a couple. That's the first pug I've ever seen that will do any command, in fact it's always the other way around.

  • Good job!! I have been working with my puppy... I have attacthed a video, she wasn't even 5 months old yet. Pugs are really smart, but also very stubborn lol

How do you teach the "sneeze"?

  • pugsy sit! pugsy sneeze!

For my dog I just made her lie down first, give a reward. Then with a circular hand motion I would say rollover a few times, and help her to do so - and then give a reward. For the first few sessions they won't do it on their own, but if you keep repeating and breaking it down like this - they eventually figure out what they have to do to get the food. Just be optimistic and don't get frustrated with them!

After a while you can get them to rollover whenver, even without food!
