@SpiralPegasus Remains? Grant they've outright said they just redesigned Zero's image in the Zero series, but I don't recall them being similar. Further, there's an un-displayed story out there already about the progression into the Zero universe, I think Z3 and Z4 give the gist of it, though I had to go onto the internet to find the rest of it. It was previously on Wikipedia in whole, but now they've Changed Zero's article, and either removed the story or moved it where I can't find it

@Zetro200 I can't recall where did I read it, but if I recall correctly, Inafune wrote the beginning of Zero 1 to go right after X5.
But other than how the remains of Zero's body look in both games and how he regains his sword, there's not much else...
-
@SpiralPegasus really? X5 was suppose to lead to it? I'd always just assumed they were holding off putting out the game to link them together, I never knew one of them was supposed to be the link and they just overwrote it. I knew X5 was suppose to end the series, but then they just called in a new team of developers and resumed it.

@Zetro200 X6 had a really mediocre plot, amongst other problems, like godawful level design, but yes, I like it as well. It could have been the best in the series, even.
X5's Canon ending is X's good one, as far as I know, because of Zero's sword and blablabla...
I wish Capcom would stop killing Mega Man and release a final X9 that would lead to Zero 1 like X5 was supposed to.

@SpiralPegasus I'm aware, I've played/beaten Xtr1&2, it was another joke.
The real problem with determining canon is that X5 was technically suppose to be the last one of the series, with the multiple endings, but they revived it anyway with another sequel. Which was ok, X6 was good. The only thing that ever really stuck a spike in the game was the multiple developing team changes, and the plot holes from that.

@Zetro200 It doesn't show just because Crapcom devs were too lazy to add new sprites to a game that was meant to be played in a very small screen, making it hard to notice anyway.
He does have the armor, it even appears in the menu subscreen.
I agree with you, that's why I said that I don't know what's canon and what is not.
The "X will kill Zero" game you look for is X3, BTW.
I love how detailed MMX's saga was, plot-wise.
-
@SpiralPegasus Well if the armor doesn't show, then its just like the way he gets techniques from Boss's eh? heheh. I think the specific thing is that no one really gets how he works, which makes sense since he's technically Malfunctioning, which was the whole topic of X5's nightmare story/plot construction. Which, is again reference to one of the early games that gives a prophecy of sorts that X will have to kill Zero, and the various revivals and deaths of that prophecy itself in the story.
-
@Zetro200 Pfffffffffttt hahahahaha
At this point I don't know what is canon and what is not, but in the Game Boy color games Zero gets an armor, but his sprite doesn't show it.
Oh and... X is a slow driver.

How does Sigma know about Dr.Wily and could Wily be the 'old man' Sigma mentioned in MMX5?

No just resurecting Zero gives you the real Zero when it says thank you for playing instead of the Black Zero
getting no upgrades shows Zero when X is on the bike
