He is singing it as if he is the one that denied Jesus on the day he was crucified and now the realization of Jesus raising from the dead was a reality. Not knowing how to feel and the torture he put himself through knowing that he had denied Jesus three times on that day and then Jesus forgiving him and giving him a peace that we all can have with Jesus in out hearts.
