I love this music, especially the the typewritter/background filler that has a hint of the Tar Sequence. I don't know why they killed this entirely with the New Generation, which does not sound pleasant or attention-seeking at all unlike the Old Generation.

This is also one of my favorite cues from EWN. They should've kept this cue and their bumper after they went HD in 2006. Only the Breaking News cue survives....

this opening is a cross of the 97-99 open (the black bar crawling in the same place as the names are announced) and the 2000-2002 open (the orange bar remains!!!)

I liked the older version they used right before this one (2000 -2002-ish) with the bright yellow and blue graphics with the horizontal bars on top and bottom and montages of each news anchor.
