Portrait Silhouette Cutting Artist Welles Tan performing at a private function in Sheraton Towers, Grand Ballroom on 17th Sep 2010.
What is silhouette ?
" Silhouette took its name from the French Minister of Finance, Etienne de Silhouette (1709-1767). It was his hobby to cut profiles from black paper. A silhouette is an outline of an object against the light, commonly a profile portrait in black. "
In his words:
Produce 2 pieces artwork in just 1 single cut !
One cut produce 2 pieces silhouette cutting for a single portrait silhouette cutting within 1 minute !
Not much people can do this in the Singapore market.
Of course, it need highly skillful and quiet pressurise to procuce a look alike silhouette with one cut.
I definite not the best, but I always like to challenge myself to improve my skill and maintain the standard.
