Dedicated to the memory of Will Cluney who ascended to Heaven on Nov. 3rd 2009 from his brother & my friend John "Poi Dog" Cluney.

Makee `ailana ke aloha lâ
`Âina i ka `ehu`ehu o ke kai

`Elua `ekolu nô mâkou
I ka `ailana mâhiehie

Ka leo o ka wai ka`u aloha
I ka `î mai ê anu kâua

Inâ `o you me mî nei
Noho `oe i ka noho paipai

Ha`ina `ia mai ana ka puana
Makee `Ailana hu`e ka mana`o

Composed by James K. I'i this song was popularized by the Rabbit Island Band featuring Sonny Chillingworth on vocals, Gabby Pahinui, Atta Isaacs & the Pahinui Brothers whom we are trying to emulate as best we can in our rendition of this Hawaiian music classic

  • Mahalo my Brothers. You know how I feel and that's because your tribute is from the pu`uwai.

HPD gave him an all-time procession...bikes, cars and even Air-One; they took us from Nu`uanu up the pali to Kane`ohe and back, then down through downtown to the station on Beretania then back up to Nu`uanu Mortuary.

We had 3 canoes and took Will's ashes out to sea with our Dad on Saturday right near First Break.

    I LOVE YOU GUYS!

  • Bruddah John we were glad to honor your brother on your behalf. We did not need to know your brother personally, knowing that he was cut from the same cloth as you is enough for us to assume he was a kind hearted man like you. It's nice to know HPD gave him a huge send off and without a doubt deservedly so.

    From da pu'uwai
