I was lucky enough to see Sakamoto play solo in San Francisco at the end of the PLAYING THE PIANO / OUT OF NOISE tour, and must say it was probably the most sublime concert I have ever seen, and I've seen some pretty fine ones .This man is right up there in the highest caliber of musicians of this genre composing and performing today, and is right there with David Sylvian at the top of my ''short list''of best of the best.

A poetic hommage to Bill Evans and the modal music. Beautiful piece. Bravo.

Satie in the air.... Gymnopedie-like.. Impressionism-mannerism of the ARTIST...
i would love Monet blended with this gem...
and, btw, bolero has its own pulse and rhythm... name it whatsoever, this is divine music, flows right to my veins....

A beautiful piece. It is much more Bolerish than Gymnopaedish to me. For one, this is a waltz with two (important) transitional upbeats. The melody twists and turns like the original Bolero; a nice variation.

Have I liked this before? <_<

I love sakamoto, but this one is straight out of Miles Davis Flemingco sketches.

エリック・サティのパクリだなw
I would rather call it "Gymnopaedish", anyway "chapeau" mr. Sakamoto, sublime as per usual !

this by far beats flur de lune to me. it just is too beautiful to me. makes me wanna cry every time i listen to it. it also is one of the main reasons why i kept watching Femme Fatale, although its a 5* movie to me. this piece along with his original Bolerish is just too beautiful to describe.
