Hiking in the desert and came accross this Mojave Green. Did not hurt the snake.

  • not a Mojave. The head on a Mojave is smaller. It also looks like it was digesting something so it was a bit more docile than normal. If it was a mojave Green, poking it with a stick would probably have resulted in a visit to the hospital...or the coroner.

  • I see these snakes 2-3 times a year. They can be very fast, or slow. Your'e lucky this one was not willing to participate in your poking project.

  • I kill all Mojave greens I come across out in the desert, no exceptions.
