  • thats not the correct way....you have to move the weights while lifting and not before lifting the weights up! belive me, I did it also wrong a long time...

  • @wikki11 I would normally respond to such a comment in email, where I can explain in detail, however, since there have been a couple of comments stating that Patrick is incorrectly performing the Arnold Press, I shall respond here. Patrick is not performing the Arnold Press incorrectly. The mechanics of the Arnold Press are to primarily be an Anterior Deltoid exercise and then, Secondly, a Medial Deltoid exercise. The motion in the "front" is targeting the Anterior Dels perfectly. (out of room)

  • i always thought you stop at 90 for the arnold press and then bring it in?

  • @1Narwal The "motion" for the Arnold Press is, like for all exercises, fluid as opposed to "robotic". What this means is, Patrick is performing the Arnold Press in a fluid motion. There is no need to "stop" the dumbbells at 90 then bring them in. Email me if I didn't make sense or you need further assistance.

  • @FusionFitnessSF hey mate, thanks for your fair and good explaining answer!

  • Jesus Christ. You can see that dude's spinal column.

  • @FusionFitnessSF correct--lowering your arms all the way works more muscles and works them harder

  • Awesome!

  • @BoltonASD That is false 1Narwal. It is not harder to keep the shoulders at 90 degrees. More discomfort is felt at 90 degrees because of the load placed on the rotator cuff. Ask yourself, what movement in life requires the shoulders to stop at 90 degrees? (none that I can think of). To train the shoulder properly, you must take it through its full range of motion. No trainer with several years of experience would train a client to stop or shorten the range of motion of a muscle.
