@khaiho95 if its under 2008 then you have a CD4E trannsmision which are very very expensive
-
@lexusmaster5 And your "design" of the Tundra dose allow for the doors and tailgate to fit an F-150. I didn't say the body lines match up....just the general dementions. I have several family members that are mechanics and have seen it with my own eyes.
-
@lexusmaster5 I understand just fine you said "Ford buys it's hybrid systems from Toyota" that is total misinformation. Yes, Ford has a cross licening agreement with Ford....and the other way around. They each had to grease the palms of the CEO's. This because they BOTH developed their technology from someone elses technology.
-
@pmhoard I don't believe that you can't understand my point. Look, I am proud of Ford for not taking the bailout money. I think Ford is the best American Car maker. What I know and have proven with real information not made up BS is that FORD PURCHASED 21 licenses from Toyota in order to build their first hybrid. Also, I was involved in the design of the Tundra and it is ABSURD to think any part of that truck fits an F150!!!! That is a dumb ASS thing to say!!!
-
@lexusmaster5 The simple fact is. You stated that FORD PURCHACED it's hybrid systems from TOYOTA. At the very best that is misinformation. Yes, Toyota has cross lisence agreements with Ford on many things. Hell the tail gates and doors on their Tundra will almost fit perfectly on a F-150. But, THEY DO NOT MAKE HYBRID SYSTEMS FOR FORD OR SELL THEM TO FORD.
-
@pmhoard If Ford was developing their technology at the SAME TIME, why then did the Escape not hit the market until 2004? The first hybrid Prius was launched in late 2000. That seems like quite a difference to be INDEPENDENTLY developed. Once again, EVERY car maker does this across the board and there is nothing wrong with it. I am sure that Toyota has lisences with Ford, Chevrolet, and Chrysler on some technologies. The Japanese were famous for taking American Tech and making it better.
-
@pmhoard Look....It is quite obvious that you are not a DUMB person. I am not saying that Ford "Copied" the technology. I am saying that they, whether independently or through benchmarking, needed to purchase licenses from Toyota because the Ford Hybrid system was quite similar to the Toyota system. EVERY car company benchmarks the competition. Ford COULD NOT get their systems approved independently so they had to PAY TOYOTA for 21licenses!!! Nothing wrong with that!!! Point is proven!
-
@lexusmaster5 The reality is that Ford independently developed its own hybrid system at the same time Toyota was doing its own. The basic architecture of both systems is the same and both are based on the concepts developed and patented by TRW engineers in the late 1960s. When Ford introduced the Escape Hybrid, Toyota went after the Blue Oval for infringing on its patents. Ford had patents of its own on the technology that Toyota was using.
-
@lexusmaster5 The cross licensing agreement was for technology that BOTH companies used as their base system which was from TRW engineers. So put that in your pipe and smoke it
O...M...G....i was laughing SO freakin hard when this came on last night!!!!
