I know a lot of you don't like these little tech videos. I am uploading this as a tutorial for a friend who bought the same router and can't for the life of him figure it out. I guess he is using the stupid CD it came with...stupid network magic. Its so lame.

  • Hey, i have a DIR 825 too. but i have a fiber network, and it seems that the signal is too strong for the router, and i have to recalibrate this sh**. and its expensive, because i need to call a man to fix it. This router has also given me a lot of grief! But whats the diffrence between 2.5 and 5 GHz?

  • @corax0705 5GHZ will give you less range but higher throughoutput. Every hert that gets put out is 1 data bit. The more you can push the faster it can go. Also 5GHZ is more resillient to Wifi Interference.

  • I was going through the admin section of the router and I was curious what a wireless device with WPS is.

  • @kkokoruz WPS is that Wireless Protected Setup. Basically if your network card supports WPS. You turn on WPS on your NIC and then hit the WPS button on your router and it will automatically seek the WPS'd computer and link it up to the router. Just a way to get around having to put in a WPA or WEP key

  • I am trying to get PCI compliant for credit card processing and have cable (charter internet, not subscribed to wireless). anyways how do I either close the port or how do i block WAN request or annonymous pings or filter traffic? Not even sure how to get into settings. This is a place of work. I only process from my PC only. Also said something about making sure it was a jailed or chrooted environment. No idea what to do, Can you please Help Me! Hate this sh.... TY Sincerely

  • @TrueLeGiTShoTZ doesn't really matter with Omni Directional antennas.

  • @Skavaen do the antennas have to be straight up or at an angle?
