A heroine doesn't need to be pretty or hot; you don't need a sexy female lead to make a good movie. Plus, a lot of people consider her to be one of the best female protagonists of all time. And in my opinion, I think her tomboyish look and attitude as Ellen Ripley makes it all the more realistic--I think she can actually kick some ass.
