HPC Elite Team member Alie Israel works on her block start and acceleration mechanics at Athletic Lab. The first videos where Alie is wearing black occurred about 3 weeks prior to the second set of videos where she is wearing pink. We are working on getting a lower heel recovery of the first couple steps and greater hip extension before toeoff.

  • Mike,

What are your thoughts on the first step recovery of the rear foot in the blocks? I was taught at level 1 that the heel should come through well under the knee on the first stride instead of through or over it(like you are kicking a paper cup set by the lead block)....just noticed that this start is different, is there an advantage either way? thanks Joel

  • How come, the second step looks so lazy? Start from the blocks is explosive, but then the right leg gives some hiccup..

  • Very cute, nice legs!

  • WOOOW! talk about back-kick!!

  • This is a great video, and very helpful as well... Im a prospective athlete actually looking for the most sufficient training facility to enhance my elite athletic ability... It looks to me that I may have found it....

  • analyzing the foot strike, her left foot has a slight flick and the right foot turns outwards more than the left. Is there a requirement to try and correct this so both feet are doing the same action, would this increase speed slightly over an entire race if it is corrected. I am very interested in the foot strike of a sprinter and have just started working on slow motion video for the training of my 9yo daughter. so any advise would be great

Thank you HPS Sport for the video. post more please

  • This is awesome! I wanna try this!
