An examination of the agrarian beginnings of the Grange in 1867 and how it took root in Maine. Grange halls are still holding on as a center of community life in many Maine towns, serving as the setting for countless weddings, bean suppers and class reunions. Profiled in-depth is the Houlton Grange, once the world's largest.

  • This video is very well done! I get a great sense of pride while watching this! I am a very active youth member of Stanford Grange #808 in Dutchess County, New York. We too are very active in our community service. I love the family atmosphere. It doesn't matter what kind of background you come from. Members young and old are all treated the same. Yay Grange!

  • This is great. I belong to two granges that are active. Friends belong to granges that are growing with lots of community activities. Check out thhe web site for the nationalgrange org to learn more about the movement today.
