  • Ah...memories came back...

  • I love the LSL6 version of this :) low down to "presents" :D

  • @wocko1 I stand corrected.

  • @lemonrind Actually, it wasn't an MT-32 that this originated from, it was a Roland Sound Canvas SC-55. I own both an MT-100 (MT-32 with a sequencer) and an SC-55mkII and the Sierra logo from the DOS version of KQ6 CD sounds *exactly* like in this video. Yet the logo sounds completely different when using the MT-100.

But you are quite right that the Sierra logo music in KQ6CD Windows was a recording of a MIDI file outputted from a synth.

  • Dooo doodloodleLoodleleeLOODLELOOOO!!!! Bum bum BA bum! Ding, dong.

  • PHEW!! sierra!

  • @AlienX99999 Sierra were dead in all but name by the time Vivendi merged its game division (Sierra) with Activision.

  • Activision Should Not have killed sierra they made good games.

  • This is NOT a midi file. It was arranged as a midi, played back on a Roland MT-32, but then recorded to a sampled audio wave file. This way any sound card could play it back. Most sound cards of the day used the OPL2 synthesizer for MIDI, which sounded like crap.

  • the sierra logo and MIDI file, as a child, terrified me.
