John you are a legend. This was the best thing I did at university. Great instruction, great competition, great people, and great fun. Very impressive to see that 10 years on this club is still going strong. Best club at Strathclyde BY A MILE. Keep up the good work. Ben (1996 to 2000)

I have to say that SU karate club is worth joining if you want to gain a different view on karate. I was a member during my second year and may continue throughout third year.
Being a Shito-Ryu student/instructor I find the mix in styles (shotokan and gojuryu) quite unusual and in spite of the fact I don't think shotokan is as effective as the other styles nor as flexible, the training is still a great way to gain confidence and create new friendships with other students.
