I have a feeling he does not. This is the beginning of the end of the dream.

Cont...but when Obama gets elected and he takes office he will be able to undo much of the damage that has been done by actions like the one today. You have to pick your battles wisely, so that you can stay in the fight with a realistic possibility of winning...

You know CK, I was pretty disappointed too, but realistically speaking, we cannot expect Obama to do the ideal thing 100% of the time. There will be times when he will have to go with the flow during the campaign, and this is one of those instances. He MUST move to the center in order to remain viable as a candidate. If I were him that's exactly what I would do, and that's what he's been doing. His vote today is part of that strategy. This was a bad move for the Senate as a whole, but ...CONT.

Raffi,
The Fourth Amendment which was written into the Bill of Rights to prevent unwarranted searches and seizures. We are taking the first step towards an authoritarian government. I am extremely disappointed with Senator Obama's vote and his explanation for it. He campaigned as a filibuster against FISA as it is written. Clinton voted against it as she said she would, and McBush was ano show.
We really need a third party candidate now!

Democrats, Republicans, President, VP, media - all controlled by the same thugs.

What Congress *has* done... :(

Yes... The president committed a felony. Why is he still the president?
We don't have a country.
The executive is headed by a mafioso, the congress is controlled by their henchmen and bagmen.
Together they are going to cut the judiciary off at the knees.
We have a criminal government.
The grand experiment is over.

What Congress is doing is perhaps more reprehensible than what Bush has done so far. To look the other way out of fear and/or convenience while the administration guts the Constitution is just plain criminal, and I hope that in the end everyone involved will be held accountable in one way or another. I wish we still had Senate leaders like LBJ. He would have never allowed a situation like this to take place! God damn Bush for what he's done to my country!!
