Morning commuter chat during Snowmageddon 2. Driving from Alexandria, VA all the way north to Frederick, MD during a snow storm with National Weather Service blizzard warnings.

A few minutes in the video I started getting those bladder pains from drinking coffee before starting the commute. A drive that normally takes an hour took 2.5 hours. Find out what I finally did to relieve myself during the commute. I know ... TMI.

Frederick MD already had 29" of snow from the previous storm and today's storm adds another foot on top.

Notice the difference in road conditions between Northern Virginia and Maryland ... and even Frederick County, MD late in the video.

  • Great video. What kind of recording set up do you have in your truck? Have you posted that anywhere?

  • I put a medium duty tripod in the passenger side of the 4x4 Pathfinder and a small, very light full HD Samsung camcorder on top. The tripod has a long control handle making it easy to pan while driving. The video ended up being pretty smooth. Think the seat absorbs some of the shock.

  • i am so jealous of men on this issue. It's just not an option for a woman to pee into an empty Pepsi cup while remaining behind the wheel.

  • Would a wide mouth cup be useful?

  • dude, I was on the beltway and I had my 4x4 tacoma STUCK ON THE BELTWAY. I'm from upstate NY, and not afraid of snow. This was crazy. Thanks for your video!!

  • You must live in Spring Ridge or near there? I live in Green Valley. And I have to agree, Frederick does a great job of keeping the main roads in good condition. Some of the back roads in my area were really bad, but not terribly hard to get thru. Great video of the commute. Glad you made it home safe.

  • Interesting ride. I recall that storm.

  • Why don't you share with us a little about you. Where in Alexandria do you work and what do you do? How long have you lived in MD and other than how they keep the roads plowed, what do you like about it? Dislike about it? Also, comment on the final trip to the store before the blizzard hit.

  • man scary to drive into blizzard and thx for vid
