I was not educated in the USA school system. We (my family) came to USA from our native country. My brother in law and step dad are Germans as well as many friends. I have spent time living in Germany and Italy. In fact I can tell you that many people also in Hannover look down on people in Bavaria as well. There is in Germany also a North/South discrepancy as to who has the best education and more money. People were actually making fun of a Bavarian dressed man at the subway station.

feargalk19- of course that is what some Europeans think of Americans! The fact that there are over 300MILLION people in USA from EVERY country in the world and many people in fact whole neighborhoods speak NO ENGLISH at all...how do you define 'an American'? I have to laugh at the ignorance about 'Americans'
Every American has a country of heritage that they may know much about. Ive lived in Germany and shared some surprise facts about life in USA with wonderful friends and family there.

Actually, the acceptance of being addressed as "hot chic" changes over the course of time proportionally to the consumed amount of beer and schnaps until it is not only accepted but required - every gentleman is obliged to recognize this pivotal moment in time and act accordingly.
But please remember to be discreet, because even though women usually enjoy behaving in ways that could be refered to as "slutty", they don't like this to be pointed out openly by others. Now go out and have some fun!

I'm on my way tonight. Prague, Munich, Amsterdam. Let the debauchery commence!

JROV13-One piece of advice, German women don't like to be referred to by the words "hot chics" . If you choose not to mind your manners than you and your buddies will find yourselves dancing with each other. Kind regards!

My friends and I might be goin' to Oktoberfest this year. We're all from the state of Ohio, and I was wonderin' since we're all guys in our early 20's .. how easy is it to score with some hott young German chicks while we're there? .. and are there any dance clubs in the area? .. thankx .. oh and great informative video btw, i thoroughly enjoyed it.

I don't know about A, but we have a great public transportation system
B: you can bring money for all the rides...also the beer is very expensive.
C: I recommend the Schottenhamel
I have a couple questions. A. Are there any jugendherbergers close to the festival that you would recommend? or just recommend even if its a trains distance away? And when is the ideal time to book a room? B. Other than beer and food what are some other expenses I should bring money for while in the festival? C. Which tent do you think serves the best beer?

DropKick, to your question A: The hostels are generally packed during the Fest. Arguably the best hostel is Wombats on Senefelderstrasse near the main train station but it's also one of the most expensive and will likely be full. For less money, try the hostel "4You"; it's not as hip but just as convenient (near station) and will likely have a vacancy during the Fest if you book soon. Good luck.
