I have always liked VW R32's, VW GTI's, BMW E46 M3's, etc. until now, but the mazdaspeed3 I just learned about. 6-speed manual (standard), turbocharged I4 that produces 263 HP, and decent looks/interior, ALL for 24k? BRAND NEW? I am sorry VW/BMW, but the Japanese have been really impressive in the past decade.
German cars used to be ultimate (1960's to 1990's - million mile Mercedes', awesome!)
But that is slowly going visa versa, Japanese cars are becoming more awesome for more cheaper.

want awd? get a wrx :D

torque steer wont be an issue if they had RWD!!!!!!

@CeletenteFan223 they should do it like Chevy and use the super chargers rather than turbos, SC's dont have lag.
-
I like the looks of the speed version but I wish it didnt come with the stupid turbo, I hate turbo lag, the turbo car probably feels slower than the 2.5 because of the lag. No replacement for displacement,. Atleast they have the 2.5 version.

amazing car, beats any WRx or any shit.

they should put a rotary engine in this car, that would be more fun

My local dealer has a Velocity red fully loaded Speed 3, I'm about to get a new car and I'm tempted to get it. If not, I'll probably get the 2.5 hatch

Good conluding statement about the car. When it comes to the 'amount' of lag in cars less than 30K (US) I think you need to be a little more sympathetic in your 'quantifying' of it. OTHER than that. Awesome review! Very informative! Just my 2c worth :-)
people who complain about torque steer have limp wrists..

@jonray74 But a full loaded GTI, comes in at around 31k, then add a intake, exhaust , and reflash, you're looking at 370Z prices. This car is fast right out of the box. plus, it's unfair to compare modifed vs. stock.
