I based this piece on the concept of a round, basically seeing what suspensions I could bring out by layering chords one note at a time in the melody. The performers sing the melody first in a chantlike style, then as a four-part round a quarter note apart. The only written harmony is the final cadence. Since I finished this piece, some friends and I have experimented with endless variations on the theme: rhythmically, conceptually, harmonically, etc. Enjoy!
