Dicktit - Crack/ Suck Your Soul Live 1991

In the Spring of 1991, the L.A. club scene was playing host to bands like Nirvana who would soon explode into international fame. One night, an unknown who called himself Beck played Jabberjaw to an audience of about 75 people, including Courtney Love and members of her band, Hole. Opening the show was Dicktit... No, that's not a typo. In an attempt to ensure their anonymity, the group members had come up with the dumbest name imaginable. Like many of their plans, this one backfired when Dicktit found themselves on live bills with Green Day, The Muffs, The Weirdos and Weezer. El Duce himself always seemed to be around to lend support... It wasn't just a matter of having friends in the right places. Dicktit boasted ridiculously catchy songs with strong lyrical themes. Years before the group Sublime had a hit tune of the same name, Dicktit was ripping up clubs with their own version of "Date Rape." To the credit of Alex the songwriter, and Cake the singer, the band could find witty, art punk humor in any subject and back it up with tight, God of Thunder metal riffing and Gibby Haynes-on crack vocals... 1991 was the year of Dicktit and this song was recorded by the house production crew at the Shamrock Club on October 25...
