they come twice in the century, to help my country and give liberty to my parents.

  • the B-24 flew higher, farther, faster, and with a heavier bomb load than the B-17, yet the 17 got the publicity.

Sorry to bust your bubble, but the Liberator that had it's port wing exploded was hit by flak, it is completely documented, even down to the identity of the person who filmed it.

Look up 'The Brief', (the name of the aircraft in question). It was based on Angur island, one of the Pulau group, at 07:01, you can see the tail markings of the Liberator B.S. it was part of.

The ball is in your court now.

  • @bellier20 Pretty much, lol. It's the Bulgarian blood.

  • @jpxpert You went all Pan-Balkan on us?!?!?

  • @bellier20 Lol, dude I posted that comment 2 years ago. My political views are a lot more mild now. Quite honestly I was at that time something of an American nationalist (slightly ludicrous, since the national identity is so loosely defined). Now I am more a Pan-Balkan idealist. :) (no lie)

  • @jpxpert Yeah, while you're singing "Battle Hymn of the Republic" to yourself and focused on Fascists, let's try not to forget the few hundred thousand woman and children killed during the carpet-bombing raids, just to keep things in perspective.

  • blue on blue. That was hit from above by a bomb!

  • @mulldune I sent a message to your mail.

  • @TheLimbReaper I would like to check out your site.It would be nice to see a more info on the 30th.Please let me know what you find out. Thanks

  • @mulldune My great-uncle (killed 9-11-44) was with the 7AF, 30BG, 38BS also he was on the very first bombing of Iwo Jima. I have an information site/blog. I'll have to look up Hell from Heaven.

  • My father was a Top-Turret Gunner and flew 20 missions stationed out of Horsham St. Faith England in the 458th Bombardment Group II. I also have his dairy which is unbelievable. The reason the B-17 had more footage is that they had room for a photographer as the B-24 had no extra room other then the 10 man crew; other than the on-board cameras on several planes that gathered data.
