@TheEnlightened77 Couldn't hold a punch though remember Colin Jones, Jones was no world beater. ROBERTO DURAN properly motivated and in condition would have flattened Laing. Laing's next fight after this was against Fred "The Pumper" Hutchins and Laing was knocked cold..

Kirkland Laing outclassed Roberto Duran. Kirkland was perhaps the most natural talented boxer Britain produced but he lacked the stick-to-it-if-ness to be world champion. Pity 'cause he had it all, speed, punch, reflexes, strength and pure class.
Judge Bernard license should have bee revoked as there was no way hose that Roberto came close to winning. The gifted one was the gaffer that night and old stone hands knew it.

Laing lives in my town I see him sometimes but his brain is gone, he lives in a mental home

I'm white, but thank God once a black man gets exactly what he deserves!

@JimmyChipmunk Why don't u piss off, because kirk took this piss outta Duran! Durnan later won other World titles so get lost! English pride-get lost!!
-
He thought he would win no problem and didn't put in enough training. There is a book called 'Hands of Stone' which details the highs and lows of Duran's ring career. Well worth reading.

Judge Humphry scored for Duran, quite unpopular, but it wasn't the first time controversial decisions to have been dished out in the Ring. Roberto apparently took Laing lightly and paid for it with a loss. Cute boxer too was Laing, but lack the dedication to string good wins together.

the only travesty in this fight was it should have been unanimous, obviously duran would have beat him in his day but who knows how good kirkland could have been? most experts and top pro's who sparred with him thought he could have been a hall of famer
