  • I used to dislike Soderling for his on-court behaviour but now I really respect him for his off-court manner. And whilst being a big Nadal fan, I'm on Soderling's side re. the controversy in this match. Apparently he just got so sick of Nadal delaying for so long after each rain delay (a common psychological tactic of Nadal), as anybody would. He knew Nadal was playing mind games, so he thought he'd try do the same back. Fair enough, I say.

  • I cannot help loving Robin. He s a no bullshit kinda guy.

  • What a dick.

  • I agree with Soderling, I have always thought apologizing for a net shot was silly. I also think Soderling was so mellow is because he knew the press was trying to rope him into saying things and getting angry by telling him Nadal was complaining about every little thing.

  • @ezayi For the record I heard, in another match, commentators referring to this match, saying that after every rain delay (there were heaps), Soderling would always be waiting ages for Nadal to get ready. That's what my "apparently" referred to. Given Nadal's track record (eg the coin toss I mentioned), it's not unreasonable to assume Nadal was playing mind games.

  • @ezayi Lol. Nadal's gamesmanship is infamous. It's OBVIOUS. Eg always making other player wait @ net b4 coin toss while he tends to his bottles etc. All the players know it (they've clearly learnt & adjusted to the coin toss stuff), & the commentators (who DO talk to the players directly) mention it constantly. Im not saying Im for or against all this, but fuck if I can't simply point it out! And sb with as much gamesmanship as Nadal probably shouldnt b talking about others' sportsmanship

  • @9Simmo Oh... cause you talked to Nadal and he told you exactly what you´re saying here. Or someone you know talked to him and that person told you Nadal said he does that mind game thing. Why do you people talk like that, like is absolutely true what you say?... what a lot of crap. Im not on Söderling side and never will be. He´s an idiot.

  • Funny lol

  • stupid damn ass soderling

  • @balancer182 true about the age, but i don't know why everyone always says this when rafa was 20 or 21 then too. soderling has learned though. he was one of the least liked guys in the locker rooms according to the other players and commentators, but now he's learned about manners and other "bullshit" like that, LOL!

also, i agree with you. these guys have put it behind them. so should the fans.

  • Soderlin is the man!! and I agree why do you have to apologize for get a point is stupid...apologized when you do something dishonest and this is not the case.....nadal is an asshole.
