This piece for choir was performed by the William Byrd Vocal Ensemble, conductor: Nico van der Meel.
The event took place: The 11th of september, 2009 at the Pieters church - Utrecht.
'Ruimtezang' or 'Space song' is a cosmic, atmospherically work for a capella choir on a Dutch poem of Adriaan Roland Holst.
One can imagine how in this work the 'harmony of spheres', the cosmically singing of angels of the higher spheres, the 'music of the spheres' is going to sound...
Because of the spacial / cosmically effect, the choir stood far away from the audience, above in the altar room, the room that symbolises God, so that it was as if from far away, an angelic choir was to be heared, sounding from the place were the divine world should speak to humanity

Dit werk voor koor werd uitgevoerd door het William Byrd Vokaal Ensemble o.l.v. Nico van der Meel
Deze gebeurtenis vond plaats op 11 september 2009 in de Pieterskerk in Utrecht.
Ruimtezang is een kosmisch sferisch werk voor a capella koor op een Nederlands gedicht van Adriaan Roland Holst.
Men kan zich voorstellen hoe in de ; harmonie der sferen het kosmisch gezang van de engelen uit de hogere sferen, de muziek der sferen tot klinken komt

Ha Marc,

Tijdens het concert bedacht ik me dat Thomas Tallis en jij de kosmische geluiden intuitief zeer goed verwerkt hebben in jullie composities. Ik heb namelijk wel eens via internet de echte geluiden uit de kosmos afkomstig van planeten e.d. wel eens gehoord en er is duidelijk een verband te horen. Klasse!
