Does the exhaust out of the side help much with the sound level inside? If so, I might try it myself. Enjoyed the ride muchly!

well to be honest, I took the small 8" extension off the exhaust and this made it quieter. What I recommend to reduce noise is stop vibration so what I did was apply self adhesive lead flashing to the engine cowling, all the floor panels and in side the glove boxes and what I'm going to do is add it to the doors then make some door cards to hide it. Also carpeted the roof and then the floor it really did make a big difference but remember it is a old van so noise will still be an issue.

The exhaust is a stainless steel one which was fitted before I bought her. I would say it is louder than the standard exhaust as it booms at speed but at low revs sounds lovely. Drove from York to Winchester last year and my word should have used ear plugs but was great fun

@myoungmby1 I'll try anything to reduce the decibels in mine, maybe an extension would help - thanks!
