1-800-Wood. The phone numbers of the future are so much SHORTER! Perhaps dialing with words will become popular again. What is old becomes new again... WebTV... ahem, MSNTV did a good portion of those functons. Poorly.

You are quite a visionary Nanogirl :P
All this will happen, and you know it.
Keep up this good work!

Would this be achieved through software and existing hardware or will it need new hardware development as well?...
Loved the dancing guy...had a real John Travota feel to it.. :-)

I think it is feesable with the hardware that is available now, but the software would have to be written. Which since each component is currently functional on an individual basis already, shouldn't be too difficult. Glad you like the dancing! I like that part too! But, I like the logfomercial as well : )

In 2001 I did a little work with a company called Ucentric that was trying something similar. Later they were acquired by Motorola who dropped the best parts and watered it down to get "Follow Me TV". It's a great idea, but it needs very smart installation guys to make it work, and that might be where Ucentric had trouble getting traction.

You know I've wondered about why it hasn't been developed, because it is so possible. I think it might be that if it is developed 'one by one' they can get more out of it on an economic level? Instead of giving it all to us at once.... I didn't know about Follow me tv, or your connection - I just looked it up. Thanks wware!

chains of nanobots would be ideal for mocap if they could hold hands and create chains along the limbs.
and lets say you put your hand up between your eyes and your tv, put your right index up so it obstructs your view of a button displayed on the screen, move your finger forth (detected by mocap) , you just used a touch-less screen ! :)
