I first saw Charles Lloyd in 1968 when I was in High School (Our jazz teacher MADE us go). Boy, was I glad! I fell in love with him that night! He had Jack Dejohnette on drums, Keith Jarrett on piano and Ron McClure on bass. AWESOME!
@sohooded I live in Alabama, we have a relatively small jazz community. There not much jazz going on in this state. I wish I could have the opportunities to play and travel and meet the giants of my age. Who knows what will happen in the future though.
@chubbypuppys I know how you feel man. I am 18 and studying jazz. I hear my professors talk about how they played in the bands of Buddy Rich and Maria Schneider and people of that sort. It is definitely a great experience to learn from those who have learned from the greatest.
