So, do you think that Siri is worth the upgrade from the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 4S?

Siri (pronounced /ˈsɪri/) is a personal assistant application for iOS. The application uses natural language processing to answer questions, make recommendations, and perform actions by delegating requests to an expanding set of web services. Siri claims that the software adapts to the user's individual preferences over time and personalizes results, as well as accomplishing tasks such as making dinner reservations and reserving a cab.[1]

Siri was originally introduced as an iOS application available in the AppStore. Siri was acquired by Apple Inc. on April 28, 2010.[2] Siri had announced that their software would be available for BlackBerry and for Android-powered phones, but all development efforts for non-Apple platforms were cancelled after Apple's purchase.[3]

Siri is now an integrated part of iOS 5, and available only on the iPhone 4S, launched in October 2011.

Independent developers claim that they ported Siri to iPhone 4. However, some news sites consider that the videos they posted for proof only show the User interface of the application, excluding any voice commands, to conclude that they did not prove anything.[7

It was announced on October 4, 2011 that Siri is included with the iPhone 4S. The new version of Siri is integrated into iOS, and offers conversational interaction with many applications, including reminders, weather, stocks, messaging, email, calendar, contacts, notes, music, clocks, web browser, Wolfram Alpha, and maps. Currently, Siri only supports English (US, UK, and Australian), German and French, and has limited functionality outside of the US.

After announcing that Siri is included with the iPhone 4S, Apple removed the existing Siri app (which ran on all iPhone models) from the App Store.[14] According to some news stories, a developer of 9to5mac was able to port Siri back to iPhone 4, though the performance and quality is not very good, and they did show only the User interface of the application, excluding any voice commands. According to the hackers, a filter on Apple's servers controls whether Siri is used on an iPhone 4S or other devices.

  • Siri too me it can't tweet for me? I just saw you do it. WTF?!

  • Siri isn't really worth it. She's good at reminders and GPS, but beyond that she just points you to a web search (or doesn't understand and completely goes wacko). And come on, people, if you're so lazy you can't waste the brainpower to remember stuff, that's just kind of rediculous.

  • Wait is the full version of Siri coming for the iPhone 4S

  • @lazar98ilic there's been testing by apple themselves to test their version of a port of siri to iphone 4. maybe they will go through with it.

  • @lazar98ilic no it doesnt

    sorry

  • Is siri working on IOS 5 iPHONE 4
