In this video, I'm playing at home a difficult cadenza from Prokofiev's 2nd piano concerto on my Piano Roland. I'm doing my best with my part-time practicer's skills, so don't blame the numerous mistakes. In fact all your opinions will be welcome as long as they are expressed in a friendly way. Good listening.

  • Very good interpretation of a brutal piece of music. Nicely done.

  • @wsp67326 If you have seen too many aerial shots of pianos on YouTube, then are you so blind that you can't see that he's playing the same notes that are coming out of your speakers or headphones? Have you ever heard of badly interlaced video and audio? Or perhaps since the piano was silent, the audio was not exactly paired with the recorded audio. Please try to think before you go about bashing videos.

  • WOW... this is beautifull... you're my hero for playing this!!! love 4:35....

You should try to play the whole concerto. If you can play this... : )

  • Amazing. If you can play this, you can and should play the whole concerto.

If I could, I would definitively do it.

  • a fellow pianist, i'd call this the hardest cadenza yet written. bravo. its hard to believe anyone but a professional could play this. if your really part time, WOW buddy. five stars. thanks for sharing

  • Wow. Fantastic, awesome. What a difficult piece uh? I just love this concerto. Congratulations.

  • Fantastic, well done

I do love that last sequence and chord

  • i have a 52 seconds video as well .... u may have a look.

  • this is going through your computer right? do you have a midi cable? do you think you could record this onto a program and export as a midi file for us?

  • is your piano a Yamaha Silent?

  • Weeeeeeeeell... I gotta say that was a pretty nice job. Four stars !

P.S.: It actually sounds like you're interpretating the piece. You play it slowly just like Evgeny Kissin play most pieces ;)

  • I know this concerto very well, thank you; perhaps I'm overly critical, but it appears that either there is a delay or somehow some notes are coming out of nowhere; what's with the computer anyway? it appears that someone recorded this earlier and the "performer" is trying to follow along with the recording. I have seen too many aerial shots of pianos on youtube to believe this it true. My apologies, though, if it is. Good luck with it, whoever is playing this. It's quite difficult.

  • to wsp67326: this is not fake. He plays the right keys, if you are familiar with the score

  • I love this concerto. You are very good :D

  • Thanks man! I'm learning this cadenza and I'm have difficulties with the 4:18 part... I don't know wich finger.
