Christ! People are you blind? There are two drummers, one is playing the other one is not. But there you go... one of them is actually playing! Mystery solved...

No problem to sinc audio to video, that is done regularly every day .
It might be that the audio quality was not acceptable so they used the studio version we all know.
I am a drummer myself and sound engineer. The drummer on the right is just doing nothing and the one on the left is too quiet and doesn't have enough cymbals.

@DB2209 Again, first, I don't think they went thru the hassle of synchronizing audio and video for this performance. It is not an official promo-video for the track or tracks. I presume that every time Deodato plays the solo on the rhodes on super strut, unless he is following strict music script, the musical notations vary a bit. When they show him on the video playing the keys it really seems that he follows what is being heard played.

@DB2209 Second, the tracks on this video are definitely not the original, official tracks of the LP's. Third, the drumers seemed to be playing exactly what is being heard. Billy Cobham's, Stanley Clark's, and John Tropea's performances are more elaborate than the ones on this video.

Deodato IS playing the fender, but the rest is a fake: I don't see those drummers movin'! If memory serves, this peace was recorded with Billy Cobham at the drums

Yes, Billy Cobham is not playing the drums nor John Tropea is playing the guitar or Stanley Clark The bass either. I think this video was recorded in Brazil. Eumir: maybe you can explain this with more certainty. I like to see more older videos of Deodato performing.
