Explain that comment. What is a "Company Man"?

  • @MrFlesh

Which is pretty freakin' good for factory work. Heck, teachers in my area make that much only after paying for almost 6 years of university schooling and 10 years as a teacher. Maybe the consumer driven market can support 56k factory workers to assemble cars, but in any market economy when you don't let the market correct itself through reorganization or bankruptcy you only prolong the inevitable.

  • Republicans are just too stupid to be ashamed and embarrassed about themselves. Neugebauer, bush....what the hell is in the texas water??

  • You are either, vastly unequipped to argue this case, or you are a COMPANY MAN.

  • I want to know where these hypocrites were when Bush and the Republican Congress ran up a 9 trillion dollar debt and let Wall Street and the Banking Industry break the economy. These words would have rang true then. Now, when A Democratic Congress and President are desperately trying to clean up their mess, they are all of a sudden shedding their drunken sailor roles. It stops when you vote these hypocrites out of office and fix the problem of unregulated free market capitalism run amuck

  • Neugebauer's the biggest jerk ever..!

  • I highly doubt you still this way now 4 months later and look where we are. When does it stop??

  • That number includes autoworkers in right to work states; Toyota, Honda, Nissan workers who produce better cars. I suspect that the number also includes autoworkers on GM/Ford's payrolls that are actually lay-offed and hanging out at the union hall.

  • sounds like a call to action.

  • Which is pretty amazing considering that's just the AVERAGE, so you need a lot of people making more and a few people making less to give you that AVERAGE. UAW workers make significantly more than factory workers at other import factories. Is that the full reason why GM, Ford, and Chrysler can't compete with the imports? No, but it's surely a big chunk. Unions nowadays are distinctly un-American.
