Foxes playing with squeaky toy.

This is our pair of pet red foxes playing with their new Snoop Dogg microphone squeaky toy. That's a tough toy! :D

Rusty is the cross-colored red male and Misty is the pearl marble female.. They're shedding right now which is why they look so scraggly. :p

It's cool to see the different breeds play together. I wasn't sure how they would react around a different kind of fox. How do they behave around cats, or small dogs?

I should also point out that red and marble foxes are the same species, Vulpes vulpes (red fox). They're just different color phases.

If you're referring to Rusty, he lost the tip of his tail as a kit due to the irresponsible breeder that raised him. He should've been removed from his mother but wasn't and she tried to kill him. :( He's got several scars from that but he's now a happy, healthy fox in our home.

Foxes may eat small kittens or dogs because of their innate behavior. It would be best to keep them away from those types of pets. However, I think it's fine around regular sized cats and dogs. :)
