  • I would like to also commend you on your video. Nice point of view. Love the green screen. However, I am not sure what you meant when you said at the end, "Patriotism is action taken by well-informed individuals for the sole purpose of making your country the very best it can be." Where you implying that only well-informed individuals can be patriotic? Or the best patriotism comes from individuals that are educated?

  • I can see where the confusion might come from. My point there was simply to re-inforce the fact that when you vote you have to understand what you are voting for, or protesting for that matter. If not, then you are simply going with the flow and that is nothing special. Just keep up with the issues and the politics, and form your own opinion based on facts and information, rather than someone else's opinion.

  • So how does a person who knows nothing of the issues or about how to protest show patriotism? Immigrants come to love the American country with little to no information about our politics. Are they not patriotic?

  • To show true patriotism is to take the time to learn about our country and it's laws. they may be patriortic in the most technical sense of the word, but true patriotism requires a concious effort. Simply living in America and saying you love it is not true patriotism. I will not beat around the bush here. There are definitely multiple degrees of patriotism. to acquire the highest degree you must be educated on the country's law and politics. Face it, if they really cared they would.

  • nice, i was gonna try this, but i haven't learned how to use green screen for Final Cut Pro (what im using to make my vid)

    Good Luck. :D

  • Ugh, Final Cut Pro! I use Final Cut Express HD for the Green Screen and Editing, Motion for the Fire and the "Oh Say can you see", and Livetype for the Graphics at the end. Thanks for the feedback, All of you!

  • ahh don't expose it! lol if people believe it's the actual RI state house, then it really MUST be one heck of a greenscreen job... it was final cut express though.

your greenscreen came out pretty good, too though =) i thought it was interesting how you changed the pictures in the background. good luck!

(i hate to ask, but i can't help it... what did you think of my video other than the greenscreen?)

  • Thank you. That is what you should have used in your video to support your argument. That patriotism is not only loving a country, but to take the time to be educated in its government and laws. This is dedication allows them to be a well-informed individual that will work to preserve or change their country so it can be the best that it can be.

The Socratic Method. It makes people think toward their true beliefs.

  • Very nice points. I like how you encompassed many different forms of patriotism, and posed a different view than many of the other candidates.

Also, you get extra points just for mentioning Nathan Hale. =P

  • Yes! First comment! Good job, like the green screen.
